The 14th ranked Danville Area Community College Men's
Basketball team fell to 7-5 after dropping their MWAC conference opener at Lincoln College (11-5) 92-86 in Overtime.
DACC found themselves down 20-6 to start the game, but fought their way back
to get within 4 points in the first half. Danville trailed at the half 45-36.
The second half started much the same as the first half as Lincoln went on a 12-0 run. Danville trailed by 21
points at one point. However, the Jaguars' defense stepped up in the
final 10 minutes. DACC tied the game at 79-79, on a layup
from freshman point guard Billy Hayes with less than 5 seconds remaining.
The Jaguars then forced a turnover and
missed a shot at the buzzer to win the game. In overtime DACC was outscored
13-7.
Danville was
led by pre-season All-American Marcus Thomas who had 27 points. Anthony
Lee Ingram had 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Sergey Struck added 18 points
and 11 rebounds.
DACC was without starting point guard Antwone
Rogers who was home in Indianapolis
mourning the death of his 12 year old cousin.
Next up for the Jaguars is a 5 game home stand. They will face Lincoln Land at HOME on Wednesday, January 9th
at 7:30 p.m.
