The DACC men's basketball team defeated Lincoln Trail
College 76-65. The
Jaguars found themselves down by as many as 10 points late in the first half,
but a 9-0 run over a 1:02 span got them back to within 1 point. DACC trailed
36-35 at the half.
DACC jumped on LTC early in the second half and quickly had the Statesmen
down by 16 points. The DACC defense stepped up - in the second half - holding
LTC to 2 points over this 6 minute span.
Danville was
led by Marcus Thomas with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Ted Hardy and
Sergey Struck each had 10 points. Struck also had 7 of the Jaguars 11
blocked shots.
Freshman Ronnie Bell (Danville,
IL) saw his first action of the
season due to injury. He came off the bench to spark the Jaguar run – and recorded
9 points. Next up for DACC is a rematch with undefeated Wabash Valley
on Tuesday,
December 4th at 7:30 p.m.
"We played a much better in the second half. If we can play like that consistently
we'll be a hard team to beat," said Danville Head Coach Mike Carpenter. "Ronnie
Bell came in and did a great job tonight. This was a good win."
