The Danville Area Community College Men's Basketball team
defeated Rend Lake College
64-54 on Saturday afternoon. The Jaguars were facing one of the highest
scoring and best 3 point shooting teams in Region 24 as
the Warriors were averaging nearly 80 pts a game. However a stingy defense
by Danville limited Rend Lake
to their lowest point total of the season. The Jaguars also held Rend Lake
to 2-10 shooting from behind the 3 point arc.
DACC led by as many as 16 points in the second half.
Danville was led in scoring by Marcus
Thomas with 12 and Sergey Struck with 10. All 10 of the Jaguars who
played scored. Next up for Danville is a tough
road game at Kankakee
on Tuesday, November 20th.
"Our defense was outstanding today. If we
continue to improve offensively and limit some of the careless turnovers, we
could be a very dangerous team,” said Danville Head Coach Mike Carpenter. “Mike
Foxen, Ted Hardy, and Westley
Dawson all came in off the bench and did a great job."
